We had 13 Rotarians attend plus 4 guests,
Andy’s little princess, David’s better half – Helen. Synthia’s niece Josi and Stella’s guest Joana Borges. Do you know who she is? The world is really small, her father is Francisco Borges a Past President of our club and was the President when our bus stop was rebuilt. Joana gave us the good news her father is willing to help us renew next time he comes to Macau. PP Maneiras explained the first stop was very simple, without a top.

Last Sunday, 23rd July, secretary PP Synthia met with a visiting Rotarian Aubry de KOSTER, from RC Millenium – Brussels, Belgium who is also secretary to his club. We introduced our projects for this year and the history of our club and discussed possible joint projects.

Announcements:

1 – RI
      Bill Gates at the RI Convention in Atlanta began his speech by announcing that his foundation will extend its partnership with Rotary, 2 to 1 funding match next three years with Rotary committed to raising $ 50 mil IO per year over 3 years, which will translate to &450 million for polio eradication efforts.

2 – RI
D- 3450 announces that PDG Liu Lit-Mo passed away on 12th July :
     – he was a member of the Rotary Club of HK Island West
     – was Governor of D-3450 in 1994-95

3 – Club
     – 1st Club Assembly-3rd August – Proxy is required for those not attending
      – Joint Installation between Rotary Club of Macau and Rotaract Clubs of Macau and UMSU – 12th August

AOB :
RTN Pedro Lobo is in Portugal and has found a Rotaract Club looking into helping the fire victims in Portugal. He is liaising with their District and mother club RC Pombal and has offered to work as a volunteer. We will wait for his detailed information.
