We celebrated our Mid-Autumn Festival last Friday, which is a week earlier than the actual festival day cos that’s the closest Friday to the Festival. It was held at the Azure, Crowne Plaza Hotel which offered very fresh and great sea food with oysters, abalone, prawns etc. We had around 60 attendance including Rotaractors, our sponsored students, Rotaryannes, families and friends. We didn’t have karaoke like last year instead Rotaractors introduced new games, ‘spicy sushi’ and ‘bingo’ to help raise fund for the Guangxi Project, as usual. Together with $1,000 each from Pres. Sam who’s in Huangshan, China and IPP Liz in Hanoi, they raised a total $6,500 for Guangxi. Though we didn’t have a full moon that evening, we all had a full stomach when we left.

NO MEETING TONIGHT cos festival night though it’s not a public holiday.

Next Thursday, 22/9, we have invited Rtn. Joao Pinto to speak on a very interesting subject “Public Broadcasting for Minorities”. He will talk about the role of broadcasting helping minorities integrate into the society. He will focus on migrant workers in Macau and the work he’s been doing as news Controller in TDM. Please come next Thursday to know more about our new Rotaraian and listen to his talk which might help us to consider putting effort in this forgotten sector.
