LET EVERYDAY BE CHRISTMAS!

Christmas is forever, not for just one day, for loving, sharing and giving.

For the 9th consecutive year, Rotary Club of Macau and the Macau Association for the Mentally Handicapped held their Joint Christmas Party “X’mas Dinner Nite ~ Memories Down the Lane” at the Emperor Hotel Macau on 12th Dec 2008. Over 400 mentally challenged students of the said Association, their families, Rotarians and Rotaractors had a great time together.

Program included photo taking with Past President Keith Pharis the Santa Claus, games, singing performances by the students, Christmas carol singing by the representatives of the two organizers. To round off the night’s excitement, a lucky draw and Christmas gifts presenting were followed, making the joyful atmosphere to the highest.

Guests joining included District Governor Albert Wong, representatives of Social Welfare Bureau and Education and Youth Affairs Bureau.

May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace,
The gladness of Christmas give you hope,
The warmth of Christmas grant you love.

OBITUARY

Our much beloved Past District Governor Dr. Raymond Wong passed away peacefully on December 4, 2008. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008.

PDG Dr. Raymond Wong joined Rotary Club of Kowloon East in 1979. He was President of Rotary Club of Kowloon East in the Rotary year 1984-1985 and District Governor of District 3450 in the Rotary year 1987-1988 and 1988-1989.

ROTARCTOR’S REPORT ON GUANGXI PROJECT – 18 DEC 08

Vice President Kevin Lei and Sergeant-at-arm Carita Ma of Rotaract Club of Macau will come to our meeting on Thursday, 18 Dec 08 to

· report the progress on Guangxi Project as well as their club’s updates. This year, they will work with their younger brother, Rotaract Club of University of Macau’s Student Union for the said project.

· seek some donation for the Guangxi students.

NO MEETINGS – 25 DEC 08 AND 1 JAN 09

There won’t be any meetings on public holidays, 25 Dec 08 and 1 Jan 09. The first meeting of 2009 will be held on Thursday, 8 Jan 08.

DISTRICT BOWLING TOURNAMENT – 4 JAN 09

Hosted by Rotary Club of Kwai Chung at Whampao Thunderbowl Centre in Hong Kong from 10:15 am. Two extra lanes have been reserved for the family of Rotarian & their children with complimentary snacks, sandwiches & drinks. HK$1,500.00 will be charged for each team of 3.
