On 15th January, 2015, we had a big group joining our meeting ( 13 members, 7 guests and 2 visiting Rotarians) Welcome ET back from Azores and Rotarian Alumni Jim from Malaysia visiting us. Also, we had Ricardo and his better half Gloria, PP Guy and his friend Jean, friends from Fu Hong and Autism Association director Nicole Chan too.
This week we invited IPP Mawin Cheung from RC Happy Valley as our speaker to talk on “How Urban Organic Farming benefit us”. Did you know that every day there is around 360,000 tons of waste being dumped in HK? Believe Macau is also facing this environmental unfriendly situation. IPP Mawin shared with us his various organic farming ways including mobile eField and mobile greenhouse and how they, together with cultivation of greens, helped provide enjoyable experiences for seniors and people with special needs ( like dumb, deaf, autistic and mild mental illness service users). Our club was presented with a beautiful pot plant for our club office which PP Fatima has kindly offered to take care of it for the time being.
Box collection $ 660.00
With a very heavy heart, I would like to announce that Rtn. Janet will be leaving Macau soon, fellow Rotarians, please come this meeting to give her hugs and kisses goodbye!
