On 23rd January 2015, PP Stella and I attended the reopening ceremony of the Clementina Leitao building at Saint Paul School. The Clementina Leitao HO building opened in 1988 and after 27 years of service, the building was renovated. As the school’s principal Alejandro Salcedo said: “The hall has played an important role in the school’s history”. The hall has witnessed countless gatherings, staff meetings, conferences, graduations, performances and cultural activities, and now, with high technology equipment, it will help to make better use of the building.
Meeting Highlights:
On 29th January 2015, we had a big turnout with 15 Rotarians (so glad to see Sam Lei making time to join us) happily receiving a big group of visitors from RC Gattinara, Italy. Led by President Cinza Travaglini and Vice President Pietro Prosino with a delegation of 17 people, including 5 Rotarians, spouses and families. Gattinera is a town in northern Italy with around 8000 inhabitants and one Rotary Club only. Most Rotarians are manufacturers like P. Cinza owns a winery so our fellowship was quite stimulating. PP Kazu did a great SAG duty with a ‘Are You Happy?‘ donation during the meal. Everyone, even our Italian friends, participated wholeheartedly.
Rotary International President-elect K. R. ‘Ravi’ Ravindran on January 18 announced the new theme for RY 2015-2016– “Be a Gift to the World”.
