Hello from Vietnam !
Trust most of you had a real fun ‘ drink, drank, drunk’ charter night evening just then at Fat Siu Lou, judging from the smiley crazy photos shared by Incoming President Sam and PP Florence Facebook.. And what a great turnout of 45 rotarians, rotaractors, families, alumni and guests. Apology for my absence to preside over this 45th regular meeting and in celebration for our club’s 69th chartered birthday .
On June 14, we held our last Joint Presidents’ Meeting in HK together with the District Awards Presentation for 2015-16 year. I am extremely happy and proud to report that our Club has won numerous awards as follows:-
- 1. Presidential Citation ( Silver)
- 2. Gold Award for Outstanding Achievement in –
- a. Disease Prevention and Treatment
- b. Maternal and Child Health
- 3. Bronze Award in Basic Education and Literacy
- 4. Merit Award for 13 Areas of Focus/Foundation / Membership
- 5. Outstanding President with Distinction

These awards belong to every one of you who have lent such valuable support to me and our Board throughout this eventful Rotary Year to carry out life-enhancement humanitarian service projects like the new ‘ Horticulture Therapy for Mental-ill Rehabilitation Patients’ and ‘ Grannies Tour for Home-alone Elderly’. Here’s my personal BIG thank you to you all !
For next week’s regular Thurs meeting on June 23, we have invited the two selected UK summer camp students from St Paul’s School to join us to be introduced to our members. Like previous years, they will make a brief self -introduction and welcome any advice we may give. Do mark your diary to join and meet them. We may even have Rtn Pedro talking to us about touring Portugal with Portuguese wine. Hope your schedule’s suit, Pedro !
