As Pres. Fatima was at Ningxia with the delegation led by DG HW for the District Water Project, I took up the Chair for the last meeting on 24/5. 
We had a big delegation of 11 Rotarians and spouses from the Rotary Club of Tokyo Koraku of District 2580 from Japan, led by their President Hatakeyama Masahiko. They nearly outnumbered us but luckily we had the following members to support: PPs Choi, Ip, Synthia, Keith, Florence, Teren, Kevin, Rtns Ricardo, Pauline, Joao, Yuko and Ignacio and we also had Miguel, guest of Keith joining us the second time.
We had PP Keith to greet our visiting Rotarians in his perfect Japanese but he didn’t had enough drink to make his Japanese fluent enough to do the translation and the hard job, of course, fell into the able hands of our Rtn. Yuko. Thank you Yuko for the hard job for the whole evening.
RC Tokyo Koraku is only 20 years old, a much younger club than us but of a similar size to us, they have 41 members. Though not as multi-national as we are, their Rtn. Sharlene Yin, Vice Chairman of the District Japan/Taiwan Goodwill Committee, is Chinese and she was the one arranging this trip. They all stayed at the Venetian and one of their members visited Macau 9 times and they really loved the casino. We exchanged banners after a few words from Pres. Hatakeyama invited us to visit their club when we were in Tokyo. We also presented each visitor with our most recent yearbook, ball program and the commemorative first-day cover with stamps of the 110th Anniversary celebration of The Rotary Foundation. Thanks to PP Kevin’s thoughtfulness of bringing them this souvenir.
During the meeting, we showed some photos of the Water Project when Pres. Fatima visited Ningxia in the past few days. We participated in this District Grant Project for water purification for schools in rural areas where clean water for drinking is a big issue. Photos are attached for your interest.
Charter night celebration at Fat Siu Lau
