24th Presidents Update

Dear Fellow Rotarians ,

It have been a long time I have not make any update. Too much work and a little laziness.
From May/ 21 to 25 I join the District trip to Ning Xia for a water project.
From Macau me and DAG Alicia Lio join the group, we start at 4:00 am. We took the turbojet to Hong Kong, then a taxi to Admiralty where we join the rest of the group and took a bus to Shenzhen airport.
Arriving in Ningxia we were divided into 3 groups.
My group is : DG HW, Irene Fung, PDG Ada, Rtn Aalia, PP Albert Poon, DAG Alicia Lio and myself.

I did not want to join this trip on beginning but DG convince me to participate. I am happy I join this trip. It was a meaningful trip. Several clubs donated enough to 20 purify water system in 20 schools in areas where is a shortage of clean water resources in Ning Xia benefecting 60,000 students and teachers and their families. We all joined hands to make this project a success.

After back I rest for one day and on May/27 I went to HK to represent RC Macau in the activity of RC Central – Breaking the Guinness World Record – The Largest dumbe drum ensemble. With over 1000 participants including Down Syndrome members and volunteers, rotarians, perform African drumming.
Take this opportunity to raise public awareness about Down Syndrome. I help to invite 2 groups from Macau , one from Macau Down Syndrome Association and other from Macau Fu Hong Society all together 33 to participate in this event.

On Jun/2-3 is The District Conference. From our club we were PP Stella, IPP Sam, PP Synthia,PP Florence, PE Elvo and myself. PP Liz could not join because have to work and Rtn Pedro was sick.

Visit of RI President Personal Representative, Past RI Director Gordon Mcnally and his spouse Heather to Macao

On Jun/8 I join Hong Kong Club installation and Charter night.

On Jun/9 PP Stella, IPP Sam PE Elvo and myself join

On Jun/10 Day of Portugal Celebration, last year that our honorable member is in charge, he will leave probably on September. This year because of that day the new Lisboa has the Portuguese colors.

On Jun/12 was the last JPM and it is tradition to have the PE’s together.

The last JPM of the Rotary Year is like a graduation ceremony for all presidents where report cards are being delivered. It’s a kind of recognition of the efforts given by all presidents.

I am glad to report that my club got 5 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze and 2 merit awards.

As to myself, I was awarded with Outstanding President with Distinction.

I don’t think I can achieve that without the support of my fellow members and my classmates. A happy ending to my presidency.

For those president and district officers the propose a new member DG has a present to each, to female a scarf and to male a tie.

And PP Synthia was also awarded.
