Dear Rotarians:

First of all, we congratulate our German Rotarian Mader as their countrymen won the 2014 world cup champion. It was a wonderful performance played by their national team. Congratulations!

In last week, we had our Asia-Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference (APRRC) hosted  Hong Kong which was attended by over 700 rotaractors and district leaders from HK, Macao and around the region.  Rotaract Advisers PP Stella, Elvo and PE Elizabete joined opening ceremony to support our Macau rotaractors. It was so heartwarming to see our young rotaractors having a valuable time connecting to overseas rotaractors, inviting  some to visit Macau after the conference.

Meeting Highlights:

Thank you Alumni PP Jim for joining us again before leaving Malaysia on Friday. He felt that its always nice meeting our old friends here. Rotary Club of Macau made him feel like home.

I would also like to send our warmest well wishes to PP Maneiras’ wife who was not feeling well last week. Hope she has a speedy and steady recovery .

As a club president, its my responsibility to give a brief introduction of our club activities. Our community services this year, we celebrate our 15th Christmas party with the mentally handicapped children, dental treatment for the elderly, GuangXi educational project, Macau autism project and Gondola Fundraising project.

A number of heavy-weight speakers will give us speech about specific topics. We will have PDG (Past District Governor) Jones Wong talk about Membership 11th September, 2014, followed by District Peace Chair PP Mitzi Leung share with us about Peace. In October Vocational month, District Vocational chair – PP Silva Yeung will join us too. Specific topic about Autism, we will have Psychiatrist, speech therapist and music therapist telling us their experience with autistic kids.

We do enjoy great fellowship in our club. You are always welcome to bring family to our first social night 31st July, 2014 at Grand Coloane Hotel (before called Westin Hotel) having India Cuisine. On 5th September ( Fri ), we will have our Poolside Party at Sands Hotel celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival.  Our international trip, will be joining sister club, Rotary Club of Taipei Annual Ball in early October.
