Greetings from CCDO, Cambodia!

We would like to say thank you so much for your support and coordination of funds to repair old and broken wells in my country. The water well was repaired, and it has also provided many benefits to the families in reducing the spread of waterborne diseases.

The water well is supported by the Rotary Club of Macau
Best Regards,

This is the first part of a three-part program sponsored by our club.
The second and third parts will be the building of a new pump and a latrine for needy families in the area.
We look forward to bringing you news of these projects in the near future.
Below is an extract from the project report.

For nearly 1-year and a half Mr Kheourn Kuoch’s family used her water well. Unfortunately, this pump well was only dug 10 – 12 meters in deep. Currently, the accessible water is contaminated by groundwater and not clean at all. The family was not able to build a new water well nor to fix their current one. To fetch clean water Mr Kuoch ’s family walked a distance between 3 – 5 minutes to their neighbour’s well.

After CCDO had visited the village and the well, the WASH team conducted a proper evaluation and assessment interview. They noticed that the family’s current situation, commitment and understanding of the WASH Program made them the perfect beneficiaries.

On 23 February 2022 thanks to the invaluable support of the Rotary Club of Macau the water well was repaired. Mr Kuoch’s family is very pleased and grateful for this generous donation. Moreover, they are willing to share the water well with their neighbours in need.
