Last night’s meeting welcomed Area 1 AG Dora Lei’s first visit to our club, accompanied by DAG Crystal and Kevin. 15 of us had the pleasure of hearing AG Dora’s sharing of the District’s goals and plans for this year with a special focus on ‘ Youth and Vocational Service’. She also reminded every Rotarian to just do ‘ a little more’ in giving, service and fellowship to ‘ Be a Gift to the World’.
Nice to have Rtn Mario with us as he was busy travelling back to Cape Verde for a major investment by Mr David Chow of Legend Group in building gaming and hospitality property there. So perhaps Mario will lead a delegation of us to visit his beautiful home country in the future!
Two of our GGG beneficiaries implemented their programs:-
a). Concordia School for Special Education – a group of their students joined a summer camp in HK
b) Macau Down Syndrome Association- started weekly ‘ Percussions’ and ‘ Flower Arrangement’ classes for two different age groups of their service users
( Rotarians who wish to visit these classes, please let me know so we can arrange with the Association).
With August being ‘ Membership Month’, we have invited PDG Jones Wong to speak to us next Thurs meeting ( Aug 20) on “Membership and Retention” which I do hope can help us recruit new members. Remember our membership goal this year is to increase at least 2 new members so please invite your friends and business associates who are potential members to come for next Thurs meeting.
