Last Thursday, Oct/19, our regular meeting we had 12 members and 2 guests – Guy- ‘s better half Vicky and Andy’s father. This time the meeting is held in Lua Azul
– Macau Tower 3rd floor, due to no room for us in Venetian.

October – RI’s Rotary Economic and Community Development Month.
According to the UN :
– close to 2.2 billion people live below USD/day
– the world needs 30 million new jobs to feed the global working-age population
– RI urges each Club to address this issue in respective communities.
We did not have any speakers but was a great fellowship to share our trip to Taipei. PP Ip shared his feelings when realised at the airport at the Air Macau counter that Grace his better half could not depart because the passport had not been in 6 months.   


Last weekend I and IPP Sam joined RC Taipei our sister club’s 69th Annual Ball ” Oscar’s night at W Hotel Taipei on Oct/14. And because the number 8 typhoon was hosted in Macau we were stuck in Taipei, our flights were cancelled only came back the next day.

Tomorrow Oct/24 is World Polio Day and we are this close to eradicating in the world this disease, only Afghanistan and Pakistan still need vaccinations. Our club will Re-run for the 4th year a World Greatest Meal to Help End Polio during next Thursday’s ( Oct/26) Halloween Social Night at Macau Tower 180 lounge at 7:30 pm. Please come and bring your friends and families to celebrate Halloween whilst donating to help End Polio by supporting a dinner fee of MOP 300,00 per person. After deducting the dinner cost which is partially sponsored by Macau Tower, all dinner fees collected and funds raised during the evening will donated to Rotary Foundation Polio Plus Fund.
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will contribute double our donation to the Rotary Foundation.

Our club has been nominated for the 2017 Business Awards of Macau in the Non-Profit Organization category. On 24/11, RC Macau will receive either the Excellence Award or Gold Award, the significant contribution of the Rotary Club of Macau to the community helps develop Macau socially, and the participation of your association in the Awards will help to raise public awareness for the region’s disadvantaged groups and the performance of non-profit organizations, while inspiring Macau enterprises to contribute more to the society.

Grannies tour :
To avoid creating traffic problems we decided to divide into 2 groups on 2 separate Saturdays on 4th and 25th November.
