Presidents 17th Weekly Update

Time flies as it’s already November! And November is Foundation Month. Thanks to your kindness, our club foundation giving has reached USD6,800 after counting USD2,500 raised at Halloween WGM night. Thanks also to PP Fatima who joined the ‘ Direct Donor’ scheme. Let’s give and help those in need.

Meeting highlights:-

– Speaker Dr Robert Kirby, CEO of Kirby Leadership Academy enlightened us with his ‘ Are you a Dancing Dragon or Headless Chicken’ talk. So glad that Rotaractor IPP Salie came with 3 Rtcs and PP Keith brought his UMAC colleague Yuko-san. PP Keith, hope she will visit us more often so we can maintain our club’s Japanese ‘flavour’ with the temporary absence of PP Kazu.
– We recognized PP Fred as PHF+2. Thank you PP Fred for your always generous happy donation top-up and foundation giving.
– Exciting news that Portuguese Consul-General Mr Victor Sereno has accepted our invitation as an Honorary Member. I will keep you all posted when we visit his Consul office to do the presentation ceremony. Kindly also note that the January District Fellowship Program will be a ‘ Portuguese Night’ with dinner at the Consul-General residence. Stay tuned for more details on the date and program and I look forward to your help and support as our club will be supporting the District to host this event.

Nov 14 DG Official Visit and Welcome Dinner

– DG Peter Pang with DS Frederick and YC Ho will officially visit Macau on Nov 14 ( Sat ). Area 1 6 clubs’ board will meet him in the afternoon to review club plans/activities.
– Joint Club Welcome DG Dinner will be held at:-

Time: 7.30 pm
Venue: Venetian Milan 2001-2102
Dinner fee: Rotarians $300 for a 4-course western menu ( Rotaractors, usual dinner fee applies)
Program: <IMPORTANT> DG Peter will present recognition to Rotarians who have over 10 years of service with Rotary. If you are one of them, congratulations and thank you for your long-serving Rotary and DO COME to join us to be recognized.

Please sign up with PP Stella ASAP by tomorrow ( Nov 7 ) as we need to confirm attendance with Venetian for 6 clubs combined.

There will be no meeting next Thurs (Nov 12) due to DG Visit on Nov 14. The district is organizing a Japanese Fellowship Night in HK on Dec 12 ( see attached promotion flyer). PP Keith and PP Fatima already signed up so if you are interested, pls let PP Stella or myself know.
