Welcome to the 22st weekly update!

Last weekend we held the Joy to the World Xmas Party –Tropical Garden, which took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. See this page for details

More than 130 service users together with one relative enjoyed an afternoon of fun.

This project is a platform for these service users to showcase their creativity and the hard work done during the year to rehearsal for their performances.

Our 2 Santas (PP David and Alumni Ignacio) were busy taking photos and distributing love among.

This was the 21st edition of the Joy to the World Xmas Party.

Over the years, this has become the most important project in terms of the number of beneficiaries.

I would like to mention that we had the sponsorship of Sands China to acquire the gifts distributed during the Joy to the World Xmas Party.

Since we still had 60 gifts, it was decided to donate it to the Cradle of Hope, which is the institution chosen to benefit from the “Rotary Sing For Fund” online concert.

On Tuesday morning I, together with PE Matthew and PN Li Ying, went to the Cradle of Hope to hand those Xmas gifts, which will be distributed to the children during their Xmas Party, which will be on December 22.

On Thursday, December 3, we inducted a new member.
José Alves was proposed by our Treasurer Ricardo and unanimously approved by all our Rotarians.

Rotarian José, welcome to the Rotary Club of Macau.

Since it was also the first Regular Meeting of the month, we celebrated our December Birthday stars.

Rotarian José and PP Florence were in attendance and blow the candles after we all sang «Happy Birthday».

As you all are aware, our Club submitted several photos to the Rotary People of Action Photo Competition.

The results from Round 1 are out now.

I am glad to report that IPP Ip migrant worker service photo is within top 15 finalists for Round 1. The photo was taken by PN Li Ying.

I’m sure we will still submit more photos during Round 2, especially those taken during the Joy to the World Xmas Party.

The “Rotary Sing For Fund” online concert which, initially scheduled to take place on December 19, is going to be delayed.

Some Rotarians have already started to donate to this project.

The proceedings will be sent to the Cradle of Hope.

Due to professional reasons, I will be away from Macau this Thursday.
Our Regular Meeting will be chaired by our Vice-President PP Synthia.

Do register and enjoy the fellowship!

I will be back on December 17, for the last meeting of 2020!

Yours in Rotary
President João
