Dear Fellow Rotarians

We have reached the end of this Rotary Year’s first month.

The time was just right for a social night which gathered Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, families, and friends.

The event took place at the Varandas Restaurant located at the Roosevelt Hotel in Taipa.

Besides a tasty buffet of Portuguese dishes and BBQ, the participants had the opportunity to chill out outdoors by the pool, enjoying Port and cigars and great views over Hengqin, the Jockey Club, and Cotai.

Meanwhile, PP Filipe and PE Matthew will have a busy year ahead.

Both are members of the 20-21 District Rotaract Committee.

One of the tasks ahead is the organization of Interota is scheduled to take from the 5th to the 9th of June, 2021.
Let’s offer our support to PP Filipe and PE Matthew!

Interota is a triennial worldwide Rotaract convention organized by Rotaractors and hosted on a rotating basis in different cities.

While it is not an official RI convention, Rotary recognizes the value of this event and supports Interota by approving its program content and ensuring that RI leadership is represented at the event.

The convention offers workshops, discussions, and interesting speakers as well as cultural activities.

Last week we also had the good news of Interact Club of Saint Paul School IPP Carmen’s graduation.

Unfortunately, there were no guests at the ceremony due to the Education and Youth Bureau’s pandemic precautionary measures.

Rotarian Philip, Interact advisor and teacher the Saint Paul School, conveyed the Club’s congratulations and best wishes of success in her future academic adventure.

This week, on our Regular Meeting we are going to receive an expert on public health communication.

Since 2014, Vítor Moutinho has been working with the Health Bureau Director handling communications for the Portuguese and English media.

He will talk to us about how effective communication is important during this pandemic.

Please register and join our August 6 Regular Meeting!

Yours in Rotary
President Joao
