Dear Fellow Rotarians

Welcome to the 6th weekly update!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Vítor Moutinho, a communications expert who is working directly with the Macau Health Bureau Director, to talk to us about how communication is important during emergencies and crises.

Although not touching directly in the Macau COVID-19 communication strategy, it was easy to see how the basic rules of engagement and public communication have been followed by the local authorities.

The presentation was followed by a very intense Q&A session with many of our Fellow Rotarians interested in knowing more details about the inner workings of a communication expert.

On behalf of our Club, PP Elvo expressed a vote of appreciation for the talk!

With Moutinho’s permission, I have attached his presentation which can be well understood even for those who did not attend his talk.

Some Rotaractors accepted the Mother Club invitation to listen to our guest speaker.

Among them was IPP Rita of the Rotaract Club of Macau.
We took this opportunity to listen to IPP Rita reporting on the recent events and future projects.

During the Regular Meeting with also had the pleasure to recognize our Treasurer, Ricardo, with the Paul Harris Fellow level +2.

Thank you, Ricardo, for your commitment to Rotary!

During this COVID-19 pandemic, we started using video conferencing to connect with our Rotarians everywhere.

And even some alumni wish to use video conferencing to reconnect with the Club.

Such is the case of alumni Lee Thomas who send us a message all the way from South Carolina, USA.

I don’t want to make this newsletter too long, but I still need to recognize our August birthday stars.

We had with us, in the meeting, Treasurer Ricardo and PP Synthia.

But we also celebrated Yuko and PP Kevin anniversaries.

Before we go, here’s a group photo with all our Rotarians, Rotaractors, and guests.

Finally, please be reminded to settle the Club Dues. You may do so via bank transfer to the Club’s BNU account number ##, or by showing up on Thursday, via bank cheque.

Yours in Rotary

President João
