RC Macau- President 36th Wkly Update- Buffet Social Night@Crowne Plaza Hotel

How nice to have another long weekend ahead! Hope you all have a relaxing time under the warm blue sky. Last evening was our 4th social night this year and, thanks to PE Sam’s introduction, we had a sumptuous buffet dinner at Azure Café at the new Crowne Plaza Hotel in Iao Hong with 33 Rotarians, Rotaractors, Alumni ( both Rotary and Rotaract) and families present. Naturally, our drinking welfare was well taken care of by Pedro and PP Ip. Much appreciated. PP Ip even offered cigars. No wonder a few men disappeared for quite some time. Everyone was so relaxed with non-stop chit-chatting that we had the whole café by ourselves till almost 11 pm. What a great fellowship night I certainly believe the free flow of wine, port, Madeira and cognac helped a lot.

PP Stella is in Guangzhou now, representing our Club to attend the District Global Grant Guangdong Autism Project kick-off ceremony tomorrow April 2, World Autism Day. We are one of the participating clubs in this meaningful project in partnership with HK Heep Hong Society to provide training for teachers, parents and volunteers to take care of autistic children in Guangdong province. Look forward to Stella sharing the trip in the next meeting.

Next week’s club meeting is one you should not miss as we have invited DGND YC Ho to speak on ‘ Opium War and After’. DGND Dr Y C is a urology specialist but a veteran of Chinese history. So you may wish to ask him in person how he balances his profession with his interests in history! Or consult him with some of your medical queries on urology. We also have visiting Japanese Rotarians from RC Nabari joining us next week, so glad that we have Rtn Yuko while PP Kazu is still in Japan.

So hope to see most of you on Apr 7, Thursday at 8 for 8.30 pm at the Venetian.
