During his speech, the outgoing 78th President of the Rotary Club of Macau, Calvin Kuang, proudly highlighted the service projects and other achievements of the club. “We had an extraordinary year of serving the local community and the world. Guided by our Rotary Action Plan, we enhanced member engagement and expanded our reach to new places, thereby strengthening our impact on the world.”
Denis Iec, the incoming 79th President of the Rotary Club of Macau, stated: “As we begin this new chapter together, we embrace Rotary International’s spirit of innovation, continuity, and partnership. By strengthening our foundations with better tools and lasting structures, we create the capacity to serve with greater impact. Together, we are united as a trusted partner for our community and a force for lasting good.”
The theme for this Rotary year is “Unite For Good,” which emphasizes the importance of working in collaboration with others to achieve Rotary’s mission of service, highlighting the power of collective effort to achieve greater impact.
Taking note of the theme, the new President of the Rotaract Club of Macau, Ray Wong, called on his Rotaract peers to serve marginalized groups of people in Macao, while embracing the guiding motto of “To Serve, To learn, To Lead.” “Like gears working in harmony, every member plays a vital role,” he emphasized.
The new President of the Rotaract Club of the University of Macau Students’ Union, Raymond Sio, aspired to “continue the meaningful events done in the past, but with more hands on deck and greater impact in and beyond the University of Macau students’ community.”
The youngest new President at the Joint Installation was Leo Chan of the Interact Club of St. Paul School of Macau. He pledged to lead his fellow Interactors through more exciting school activities and innovative community services.
During the ceremony, President Denis Iec also presented a check of 15,000 MOP to support activities at the Concordia School for Special Education, a long-time beneficiary of the Rotary Club of Macau.
