Rotary Club of Macau Central & Rotary Club of Macau invite clubs members and friends to our joint meeting for a fund raising program for Polio Plus. Help in the fight to rid the world of Polio.

“Ecstatic Macau” wins the “Rotary Cup”  
2010-03-13  

On the 13th of March, 2010 Rotary Club of Macau and Rotary Club of Macau Central invited members and friends to the “Rotary Cup” our sponsored horse race at the Macau Jockey Club. The event was arranged to raise funds for Polio Plus the Rotary International campaign to alleviate the polio virus.
The race was won by “Ecstatic Macau”.
Ms Ada Cheng, District Governor of Rotary International District 3450 presented the trophy to the winning Owner Mr Man Hon Kong. Presidents Mr David Shelton-Smith of Rotary Club of Macau and Ms Joy TT Choi of Rotary Club of Macau Central jointly presented the trophy to Trainer K H Leong. Mr Jacky Leong President of Rotary Club of Guia and Mr Santos Chu President of Rotary Club Macau Islands jointly presented the trophy to Apprentice C F Wong. Before the race, Mr David Ho, Assistant Governor of Rotary Clubs in Macao presented the Best Performance Mafoo award to the Mafoo of “Golden Star”.
Subsequent to the trophy presentations there was a souvenir exchanging ceremony. Firstly, Mr Thomas Li, Chief Executive of Macau Jockey Club exchanged souvenirs with Ms Ada Cheng. Secondly, Ms Joy TT Choi presented a souvenir to Ms Isabel Maria Ho, Head of the Department of Family and Community Service of the Macau Social Welfare Bureau. Then Mr Jacky Leong presented a souvenir to Mr Filipe Senna Fernandes, Senior Executive, Market Development – Europe & America, Macau Business Tourism Centre of Macau Government Tourist Office. Finally, Mr Santos Chu presented a souvenir to Mr Manuel Joaquim das Neves, Director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
Carrying prize-money of $545,000, “Rotary Cup” is a rating 70+ event over a distance of 1,200 meters on turf.
