Rotary Club of Macau Successfully Hosts the 26th “Joy to the World” Christmas Party, Showcasing the Power of Inclusion and Sustainable Fashion

Macau, 1st Dec 2025 – The Rotary Club of Macau proudly hosted the 26th edition of its annual “Joy to the World” Christmas party, transforming it into a meaningful inclusive fashion showcase. The event, held recently, underscored the Club’s enduring commitment to community service, environmental protection, and the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of five core community partners: Fuhong Society of Macau, Macau Special Olympics, Association of Parents of the People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau, Macau Down Syndrome Association, and Concordia Special Education School of Macau. The Rotary Club of Macau extends its deepest gratitude not only for their partnership in this event but for their continuous and invaluable contributions to the Macau community day after day. This success is also dedicated to every coordinator, parent, volunteer, and service user whose hard work made the event a reality.

The Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM) and the Macau Fashion Design Industry Association (MFDIA) were instrumental as supporting partners. Their resources and professional guidance enabled a series of workshops, from garment creation to professional catwalk training, nurturing the participants’ creativity and skills.

This year’s theme, “Reborn in Style,” saw service users and local designers collaborate to upcycle discarded garments into stunning new fashion pieces. This initiative directly reflects Rotary International’s “Protect Our Planet” (PPE) initiative. The fashion show served as a powerful statement on sustainability, especially in light of recent scientific warnings about the critical challenge of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

The transformation of a traditional Christmas party into an inclusive fashion show embodies Rotary’s core values of DEI. It provided a platform for all participants to shine as star models, celebrating their unique talents and fostering a profound sense of belonging and achievement. Attendees were encouraged to capture these magical moments and share them on social media, tagging the Rotary Club of Macau to amplify the messages of positivity and inclusion.

As the festive season approaches, the Rotary Club of Macau believes there is no better way to celebrate than by embracing the spirit of charity and community. The 26th “Joy to the World” event successfully spread warmth and joy, marking a beautiful start to the Christmas period.
