“Create Hope in the World” is the theme for Rotary Year 2023/2024, a year in which our lives returned to normal and Macau is finally totally open to the outside world.

At the beginning of this new Rotary Year, I would like to express my utmost admiration for IPP Li Ying and her board for the admirable steering of the Rotary Club of Macau during the past year.

Rotary Year 23-24 will be the first completely free of the pandemic preventive measures, which left an enduring mark on the fabric of Macau’s society. Some of the issues that were of concern for humanitarian organizations are starting to fade. However, the poor condition of Macau’s population mental health is one of the lingering effects of these 3 long years of COVID preventive measures. This is an issue that will remain at the core of our projects during this Rotary Year. We will also maintain signature sustainable projects, which our Club had had in place for many years.

Serving for the second time as president, I know that I have my Fellow Rotarians’ full support.
We have a long year ahead, a year in which we will continue to live up to the motto “Service Above Self” and observe the Four Way Test.

Let’s all work together to CREATE HOPE IN THE WORLD.
