Dear Fellow Rotarians
Thank you to PP Keith for chairing our 34th club meeting on Mar 17 as I was in HK attending a district event. Noted happy box collection was $300 and our club gave $3000 appreciation tips to the Venetian serving staff team for their last year excellent service during our regular meetings.
Happy to report below last week’s activities:-
a. Rotary Golden Flower Youth Microfilm Awards Ceremony ( Mar 17 )
PP Stella, PP Synthia and I joined the first Rotary Youth Microfilm Awards Ceremony in HK which is part of the Golden Flower Film Festival. We invited our friends from St Paul’s School, Philip Lai and Samuel Chan to join us as their school students submitted an entry to this Microfilm contest. Though it did not win a prize yet it was heartwarming to see our Adopt-A-School participation in this meaningful youth project. ( Pls refer to photos attached)
b. Sponsored Sister Club RC Makati North Water and Sanitation Project in Schools Update
You may note that we sponsored USD1000 to support our sis club RC Makati North WASH project in a Makati public elementary school through the installation of water fountains to provide clean water to 1500 students to drink and bring home. DGE Eric visited the school on Mar 17 together with DGND YC Ho and RCMN Pres Dieter and captured the happy faces of the students lining up for clean drinking water. Kindly refer to the attached photos ( courtesy of DGE Eric) where our club logo is displayed on the water fountains alongside with another sponsored club RC Island East.

c. This week Mar 24 Meeting – Talk on TESLA Electric Car
To further enrich our knowledge and commitment to preserve and protect our environment, we have invited Mr Kenneth Lui, Head of Sales of Tesla ( HK & Macao) as a guest speaker to introduce this increasingly popular electric car and its imminent launch in Macao.
Do come join us this Thursday to meet Kenneth and his team who will show us Tesla’s latest model at their new showroom at Venetian carpark after the meeting. He may even invite some of you for a test drive! I understand there is a waiting list in Macao already so nice to meet Kenneth if you have an interest in owning one to help make Macao streets more carbon-free.
So hope to see most of you this Thurs before Easter break!
