Welcome from President Elizabete Fong 2015~2016

My dear Fellow Rotarians
I am so truly honored and blessed to be the 69th President for Rotary Club of Macau and I look forward to serve every one of you with my hands and heart, our District 3450, Rotary International, our service-in-partners and the greater community in Macao and internationally.

This year theme is ‘Be a Gift to the World’ and as RI President Ravi said: ’ Every one of us has something to give-whoever we are, whatever our place in life. We can give our talent, our knowledge, our abilities and our effort; we can give our dedication and devotion. We can take these gifts and make a genuine difference in the lives of others and in our world’.

RI President Ravi also believes that dedicated members are bedrock of our service. So I will devote my utmost efforts to reinvigorate our club meetings to be interesting and knowledge-rich and further enrich our already wonderful fellowship across 11 nationalities of our members mix.

Going forward to the new Rotary Year 2015-16, our club’s focus will continue to prioritize on social responsibility but with ‘A Touch of Green’. With our club being a Green Rotary Club, it is our aim to embark upon new eco-friendly and sustainable ‘ green ‘ service projects dedicated to improve the lives of special needs children and elderly in Macau through horticulture therapy in co-operation with our Adopt-A-School Escola Sao Paulo. For our sustainable service projects, we will have our 16th ‘JOY TO THE WORLD” Xmas Night with the Macau Mentally Handicapped Association.

Internationally, the Guangxi Education project for the under-privileged students in Du’An province will continue for its 16th year, witnessing students pursuing their dreams to university.
Giving and receiving gifts always come with a SMILE. So let’s carry a smile to every Rotary meeting, event and project to shine hope and happiness to all those we serve and love.

I am wholeheartedly counting on your unwavering support and engagement to be a ‘Gift to the world ‘ under ‘Service above Self ‘ and do remember to say thank you to those lending their helping hands personally and unexpectedly.
